Hi! I’m Ela, I’m a surface pattern designer and watercolour artist passionate about creating fresh, nature-inspired and elegant designs.
I was born in Poland, in a beautiful historic city of Krakow. Art and nature were always my favourite things from an early childhood. I studied landscape architecture and after graduating I soon found myself living in England, working in a big consultancy and falling in love with English tea, humour, countryside and of course with an English guy! I now live in Cambridge, UK, with my husband and two children.
Over time, I've discovered that painting, particularly with watercolours and acrylics, gives me most satisfaction. A few years ago, I came across pattern design and I was hooked. Nature, the English countryside and our garden inspire me daily on my creative path.
I love the beautiful, mindful process of getting that first thought, sketching the elements, painting them and then finally bringing the whole pattern or illustration into life digitally.
The unique feel of my patterns, thanks to hand-drawn and watercolour painted motifs, give my designs distinction and charm. My eye for beautiful colour combinations inspired by the natural world and my background in landscape architecture, adds personality to my patterns and illustrations.
